Shippensburg Revitalization and Connectivity Plan
The Shippensburg Revitalization and Connectivity Plan is a community-driven initiative designed to honor the town’s rich history while fostering a vibrant and economically thriving future. Prepared by Derck & Edson with the guidance of local stakeholders and engaged community members, this plan is rooted in extensive research, case studies, and public input—ranging from remote town halls and interviews to property assessments and comparative analyses of similar communities.
At its core, this plan seeks to preserve the heart of Shippensburg while revitalizing its infrastructure, businesses, and public spaces to restore the small-town energy that once defined the community. By enhancing connectivity, supporting local businesses, and encouraging thoughtful growth, this initiative aims to bring people back to downtown and beyond, ensuring that Shippensburg remains a dynamic, welcoming place for residents, visitors, and future generations.
This is more than just a development strategy—it is a vision for a stronger, more connected Shippensburg, where history and progress work hand in hand to create a renewed sense of community and economic vitality.
